TALKIN’ TO HIM
By Donna Penley
Oh, Lord, I’m just an ol’ broke down cowboy who don’t
have much book learnin’;
But, one thing I do know is it took one
powerful love for you to send your
Son down here to live amonst us -
Then to die!
An’ I want to thank you, Lord, for
makin’ all men an’ women to be our pards -
An’ all the beasts of th’ fields an’ forests to be our friends!
An’ Lord, help us men to realize that this
Earth we ride on ain’t ours - but yours,
An’ we ought t’ know enough to take care of it.
So, I’ll just say in endin’ this conversation -
That I’m mighty proudd to know ya, Lord;
AN’ I THANK YOU.
