EMPTY SADDLE
By Donna Penley The ole high back saddle’s empty now -- Gatherin’ dust on the top rail o’ the ole corral. The cowboy that owned it, he’s gone on high, Ridin’ God’s pastures in the sky! But folks that knowed him, know what he done; With the herd in downpour an’ blazin’ sun. They know for what that cowpoke stood -- No matter what he said, his word was good! And it’s sad so many of his kind are gone; The kind that worked ‘till the work was done. So, Cowboy, here’s your due -- America’s a better place because of folks like YOU! Protected By Copyright
